What Is Screen Printing?

The most popular decoration method for tees, hoodies, and promotional apparel.

MyLogoMax offers custom screen printing services from our family-owned shop in Chino, California, serving Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Corona, Fontana, Pomona, Los Angeles, and the surrounding Inland Empire since 2007. Screen printing pushes ink directly through a mesh stencil onto fabric, creating bold, vibrant designs that hold up wash after wash — making it the most popular decoration method for t-shirts, hoodies, and promotional apparel. Every order is produced in-house at 3811 Schaefer Ave Suite A, with a proof approved before production begins.

How it works

How Screen Printing Works

Screen printing starts with your design being separated into individual colors, each burned onto its own mesh screen. We press ink through each screen onto the garment, layering colors to build the final design.

Because each color requires its own screen, screen printing has a one-time setup cost per design — but that cost is spread across your entire order, so the more pieces you print, the lower your price per shirt. That's why screen printing is the most cost-effective method for medium-to-large orders of one to a few colors, while smaller or highly detailed jobs are usually better suited to our DTF printing service.

What We Screen Print

Screen printing works best on flat, woven, or knit fabric, which covers most of what businesses and teams order for events, uniforms, and promotions:

We also screen print sweatshirts, jackets, aprons, uniforms, and tote bags — browse our full custom apparel catalogue to see every option. Need printed shirts alongside embroidered caps? We can produce both in the same order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does screen printing cost?
Pricing depends on the number of print colors, the design size, and how many pieces you order — larger orders lower your cost per shirt because the screen setup cost is spread across the run. Contact us at (909) 590-5656 for a free, itemized quote.
Is there a minimum order for screen printing?
Screen printing works best for orders of 24 or more pieces, since that's where the setup cost starts paying off in a lower per-piece price. For smaller orders, we often recommend our DTF printing service instead, which has no minimum.
How many colors can be screen printed on one design?
We can print multi-color designs — each color simply requires its own screen, which is factored into your quote. Simpler, one- or two-color designs are typically the most cost-effective for large orders.
How long does a screen printing order take?
Standard turnaround is typically within a week from art approval, with rush options available for time-sensitive events. Exact timing depends on order size and the number of colors in your design.
Can screen printing be combined with embroidery on the same order?
Yes — it's common to screen print shirts and embroider hats or jackets within the same order. We can quote a mixed-method job as one package, produced together at our Chino shop.
